When to wear a belt:

  1. WEIGHTLIFTING
    The HWA Foundations Belt is designed for movements that demand maximum core stability and bracing power, including squats, deadlifts, cleans, jerks, and snatches.
  2. THE 80% RULE
    We recommend wearing your belt during heavy lifts — typically around 80% or more of your max effort on compound movements. When the weight gets serious, your support should too.
  3. HIGH-VOLUME TRAINING
    Belts aren’t just for max attempts. During high-rep sets and repetitive movements under load, added core support can help maintain stability and performance throughout your training.
  4. PROPER FIT & PLACEMENT
    For the best support, wear your belt securely above the hips and below the ribs, centered around your midsection. Proper placement helps maximize bracing, stability, and engagement during every lift.
