THE POWER OF DISCONNECTING: A RUN WITHOUT LIMITS
Share
This past weekend, I hit a wall. Overwhelmed, overstimulated, and just needing a break, I did something I hadn’t done in a long time—I disconnected. No notifications, no metrics, no distractions. I took off my Apple Watch, left my phone at home, and drove to the nearest trail I knew.
Running Without Limits
When I got there, I didn’t map out a route. I didn’t set a pace. I just ran.
I have no idea how far I went or what kind of terrain I covered. All I know is that I ran for about 45-50 minutes, judging by the clock in my car. But what I do remember—what truly mattered—was how present I felt.
Tuning Into the World Around Me
I heard squirrels racing up trees. Birds chirping in the distance. The steady flow of a river beside me. My awareness was high, my mind was clear, and for the first time in a while, I wasn’t chasing numbers or checking a screen—I was just there.
It was a much-needed reminder of how small we are in this massive world. A reminder that sometimes, the best thing we can do is step away from the tech, the noise, and the pressure, and just exist in the moment.
The Best Way to Recharge
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, I highly recommend it. Go outside. Move your body. Listen to the world around you. Because sometimes, the best way to recharge isn’t by doing more—it’s by letting go.
