HARD WORK DOESN’T TAKE SICK DAYS

Life doesn’t always go as planned. A couple of weeks ago, I woke up feeling sick. Before I could even process that, we were up earlier than expected, rushing our son to the hospital because it sounded like he was having a hard time breathing. Luckily, we were able to find out quickly, he had croup, a common but alarming respiratory condition in children. Thankfully, he’s doing better now, but that day drained me.

Why Consistency Matters, Even on Hard Days

After a day like that, most people would call it quits. But at 8:30 PM, I laced up my shoes and got on the treadmill. Not because I felt great, but because consistency is key to long-term success. Missing one day can break momentum, making it harder to get back on track.

The Power of Streaks and Discipline

Keeping a streak alive strengthens commitment. The more we repeat a behavior, the more it becomes part of our identity. Even on tough days, showing up reinforces the mindset: I train because I’m disciplined, not because I feel like it.

Final Thoughts: Show Up, No Matter What

Hard work isn’t about convenience. It’s about commitment. If I’m going to preach discipline, I have to embody it. Not every day will be perfect, but every day is an opportunity to prove to yourself that you can keep going.
